Question 01: Fill in the blank with the appropriate pronoun (2 pts)

1. Neither Mohamed nor the other classmates remembered to bring their notes on the lecture.

2. It was Amira and I who organized the party from start to finish.
 Explanation: After linking verbs (like "was"), use subject pronouns.

3. The parents blamed no one but themselves for the failure of their kids in the group project.
Reflexive pronoun

4. Each of the novels has its own style, but only one of them was nominated for the prize.
Them" refers to the novels.

Question 02: Fill in with the most suitable preposition (2 pts)

1. The teacher insisted on including original ideas in every paper.
Verb + preposition: "insist on"

2. The meeting will take place in Room 203, right next to the head of the department’s office.
"In" for specific rooms

3. She was not only disappointed with the results, but also surprised by the scientific committee’s comments.
